Commendations

Aggie Dowd, owner and founder of Exceptional Edit.com, researched and edited the following books by Wm. F. Buckley Jr. A sampling of Buckley's acknowledgments of her work follows selected titles:

“The Unmaking of a Mayor,” 1966:   “I wish to thank for [her] incalculable aid in helping to prepare the manuscript and arrange the material, and for [her] indomitable patience and amiability, Agatha Schmidt...”

“The Jeweler’s Eye,” 1968

“Odyssey of a Friend:  Letters to William F. Buckley, Jr., 1954-1961”, 1969

“Did You Ever See a Dream Walking? American Conservative Thought in the Twentieth Century”, 1970

“The Governor Listeth: A Book of Inspired Political Revelations,” 1970:    “My special thanks to Miss Agatha Schmidt, without whose help I could not possibly have managed this book.  In fact, I cannot imagine how anybody manages a book without Aggie.”

“Cruising Speed, A Documentary”, 1971

 “Inveighing We Will Go,” 1972:
“My special thanks to Mrs. Agatha Schmidt Dowd, without whose help this book would be an unintelligible mess, for making it sublime.”

At the time of his death, Aggie was working with Buckley on his very last book, which she hopes to finish in the near future.

Catholic Scripture Study International:
"Agatha Dowd recently joined our organization as editor and I have found her work to be superb.  Without a doubt, Aggie is the best editor I have ever worked with.  She is exceptionally talented, and she is willing to take on difficult deadlines and overcome whatever challenges are involved in order to accomplish the job.  Aggie is truly amazing, and CSS is extremely blessed to have her working with us.  I highly recommend Exceptional Edit.com."
